Hi all, I'm back. I decided this very evening to overhaul my blog in hopes I can reach more people with it. As always, if you're looking for celebrity gossip and other nonsense, you've come to the wrong place.
About a month & a half ago I found out I was an empath. Not just any empath - a very gifted empath. I can literally absorb other people's energies, emotions and illnesses. I sense when someone isn't being exactly truthful. I sense natural disasters from around the world before they happen. I can't tell you what a life-changing revelation that was... it was like someone had just explained my entire existence in a few short sentences. Everything - I mean everything makes sense now. I'm actually finding it difficult to put it into words.
After discovering my empathic gift, I set out to do as much research about it as possible. Truth be told, there's not much out there about empaths and clairsentience. One of the reasons I wanted to start this blog is to connect with other empaths... especially through a Google search. If you are an empath like me, you are NOT alone!
If you read through my older posts, you'll find that I've ranted and raved about my old life. That's exactly what it is to me - my old life. I have a new life now. I have found love and his name is Ethan. I know I am protected and cared for by the Divine (God, the Universe, the archangels and the angels as a collective). I feel like I can place my worries and fears in the hands of the Divine - before I couldn't trust anyone.
I'm on a journey to a better place. I'm getting in shape and losing weight. I've started cooking from scratch again. Most of all, I'm enjoying being in love with Ethan. I used to think life really stunk - now it's amazing.
Being an empath is indeed a blessing. Some may say it's a curse however I don't believe so. My goal is to learn as much as I can about my gift so I can help others. No cheesiness here, folks! This is the real deal.

guess who's coming to dinner...??!!
Wow. As if I took a 3 month hiatus from telling you all about life. So what happened to me during that time, you ask? Life happened. I got a job (I think I told you all about that already), I started looking for another job and Ethan & I are wildly in love. Yum.
My job can be described as follows - a hot mess. I work for a lemonade stand. Of course it's not actually a lemonade stand but it's the best way I can describe it without exposing the identities of those involved. I know I've been here only a short while however I can write a book on the things I've seen.
One thing that really stands out in my mind is the lack of business sense, knowledge, acumen... the list goes on. Decisions are made on the fly and changed just as fast as they were made. I hear the words "I have a buddy who can..." so much that I'm confident that this venture is based on the backs of buddies; mind you, these buddies are the first ones to get screwed over.
Then there's the cash flow. Who starts a business with zero dollars? This company. No word of a lie, they are actually working backwards. As the business manager, I do all the bookkeeping. Obviously there's a clear imbalance between the cheddar going out and the gouda coming in as these people are very, uh, spendthrift. No amount of me saying if you cut expenses it will improve the bottom line seems to sink in to the pea-shaped minds of the powers that be... oh well. As long as I get paid every two weeks I don't really care.
By the way, I'm writing this at work while I burn time before my lunch break. Telling, isn't it? This is not to say I don't get work done (I actually do) - I work smart and not hard.

design of my decade (part 1)
There's a little over an hour left till the hot mess called 2009 is over. Just a decade ago I was in my mother's living room eating munchies because my mother wanted her children together just in case the world went to hell for Y2K. Supposedly the world's gonna end in 2012. Party on!
Since there's all this talk about the decade past it got me thinking about what the last decade was like for me. I liked it about as much as I like watching Ryan Seacreast instead of Dick Clark. I graduated with a degree I didn't use only to switch into a career that barely paid the bills and literally drove me nuts; living in a town that reports shootings & stabbings like baseball scores...
Okay, so this decade hasn't been all crappy. I saw some great concerts and I got to see Stonehenge. I shopped like a fool in London's Oxford Street and laid waste to Target. Most of all, I changed my life.
Me. I did that à la Jon Moxon: "I don't want... [that] life." I chose life - literally. I knew that I was spinning my wheels in Toronto. I had to do something for me. So I moved to the islands and I haven't turned back. I'll never go back there to live... unless Quebec decides to do the bravestar separation thing... Ethan & I will move to Ottawa to be close to his mother.
Ethan. How do I love he... let me count the ways. He'll get a post all to himself.
Speaking of which, I'd better go get the champagne. Check you all next year! (heh heh)

tis' the season
I feel I must comment on the world around me and its general goings-on.
First of all, SHAME on those fools who tried to crash the White House state dinner. I can't even put into words how utterly pathetic that is. Sure, you're trying to get onto a reality show. Are you hoping for fame & fortune by how many pics you can post on your Facebook page. Folks, I thought this was a joke. Alas, there are people out there with a LOT of time on their hands.
Props to the Alouettes for winning the Grey Cup! I'll admit, I didn't think they'd win it but man, what a testament to not giving up. No matter what, they kept fighting. That's what I'm doing now - I'm still fighting.
As the holidays approach, I can't help but feel a sense of calm. It's like I know there's an opportunity for me out there just beyond my reach. I know it; I feel it; I sense it. Plus this is the first holiday season I'm spending with Ethan - I'm really excited about that!
Even though I won't have a lot of cheddar for the holidays, I want it to be the best ever. I won't be going home (meh... oh well) but I'll have Ethan. :0)
